Here's another one, since the earth is not a perfect sphere, the top of mount everest is not actually the farthest point from the center of the earth, instead it's mount chimborazo ecuador

Suppose you tie a rope around the Earth's equator. By adding an extra 3 feet to it's length and raising the rope up uniformly as high as possible it gains 5.73 inches in height.
