5. Midnight Museum (by SquireTurnbolt) - https://wiki.tockdom.com/wiki/Midnight_Museum
#1 best visuals out of any CT ever made, enough said. Gameplay's alright. Nothing to complain about.

4. Fort Francis (by Jaden) - https://wiki.tockdom.com/wiki/Fort_Francis
Interesting track with actually good tech. Too many tricks but I'll let that slide.

3. Blissful Block (by Strobenz) - https://wiki.tockdom.com/wiki/Blissful_Block
Not sure, I just think this is a good track. Visuals could be a lot more interesting but this track has a lot to offer, and I can't think of any spots of this track where it's particularly bad. One big flaw it has is blind turns, but it's no big deal imo.

2. Banished Keep (by Metabus) - https://wiki.tockdom.com/wiki/Banished_Keep
It's very similar to Shy Guy Lumber Co. but slightly less original in a lot of ways. But my god it plays well. I would put this over SGLC in terms of gameplay, but it loses in terms of visuals (technically? I like BK's visuals more but from a more objective standpoint, I gotta put SGLC in 1st. I'm trying to mix being subjective and objective here).

Yep, another track by Metabus, he's that good. At least he is to me.
Lots of shortcuts, but they're all well-made whether or not you play competitively. What this track does great though is the visuals and design itself. It basically checks every box:

- Fantastic visuals
- Designed pretty well, no glitches or exploits, not a boring straightaway or 90 degree turns everywhere
- Doesn't copy textures from other tracks; purely original, custom assets
- Reasonable amount of tricks
- Tastefully placed boost ramps, no boost panels

midnight museum:

Amazing visuals! Still slightly suffers from the boost panel and KCL issues, but its acceptable.
I would rate it overall as B- or C+

Fort francis

Looks unpolished, is it meant to be that way?
Also too many trickable objects/floors.

I would rate it overall an F tbh

Blissful Block

Great visuals, great minimap design. Some parts of paths are too wide and have too much "idle/do-nothing" time. Also appears the cars don't really effect the racers. Some tweaking on these issues can def make this CT a really awesome track.

Overall rate is C-

Banished Keep

Only decent thing about this track are some of the neatly implemented alt paths. Otherwise this track is downright awful. No need to dig into the details.

Rating: F

Shy Guy Lumber Co

Overall very nice actually. Still just a tiny bit too much trickable stuff (on the main path). Some of the alt shortcuts/paths are neat, but I think there needs to be one dedicated super obvious beginner shroomspot path (that may include a basic ramp or not). Think the uturn at rMR, the shroomspot at rMC, etc. I guess that one cut by the trees would sort of qualify.

Overall rating: B

It's supposed to accurately recreate Super Paper Mario's graphics (but fully 3D ofc), so that's probably an answer to your question

I think the cars are supposed to be to set the feel of the track, and not to be obstacles. I personally never cared for obstacles in tracks, so that was not a factor for me

Lmao. This is the hottest take on CTs I have ever seen. I suppose the unoriginality of the textures probably get to you as well.

iirc there's a good CT that I like

it's "village" and "koopa" based. Any idea which CT this is?

You'd have to give more details I think. I can think of some village-based tracks, but not related to koopas.

Could you give a timeframe and whether it was in ctgp?
