@Cealgair Yes. It all comes back to Private Property. The parents view their children as a form of property.
@Fifty See that's the problem. That view is not a "hot take". You're American right (legally at least)? To me, those traits I've mentioned are obvious. Most Americans only care about Capital and Private Property. By proxy this manifests an environment where there is little to zero care/respect about the common worker. The common person has to sell their labor as a commodity to live. That person won't gain respect from others until said person owns something or someone. Yay another rant!
