When i tested this code to try to use a smaller vr hack then the gecko pointer ones, I always seemed to have trouble getting it to appear in race. After a bit of looking I found the address which does effect in race. The only problem is that everyone else will see your vr as the end result of the vr loss on your results screen. Maybe with using vr limit modifier it would show the proper vr but I haven't tested that far yet.
Here is an updated version of the vr hack which shows in both Searching menu and Track select menu
NTSC U
04619048 3800XXXX
0461E6D0 3800XXXX
PAL
0464C35C 3800XXXX
046519E4 3800XXXX
NTSC J
0464B9C8 3800XXXX
04651050 3800XXXX
NTSC K
0463A674 3800XXXX
0463FCFC 3800XXXX
(haven't tested ports yet, NTSC U is confirmed. All ports were done by Bean's Auto Porter)
XXXX = VR in Hex
270F = 9999VR
It is recommended to make each XXXX value the same
