Yesterday I found out it's spelled "receiver" not "reciever". Why.

EDIT: now that I think about it I've always known that "receipt" is spelled like that, but I mean that's a weird word, it ends with -pt, it might as well have weird spelling elsewhere. I didn't make the connection that probably "receive" was spelled that way too.
My username is in Scottish Gaelic. If you speak that language, please tell me how to pronounce it properly.

Yea but I was spelling "receive" wrong too. Basically any derivative (or whatever they're called) of "receive", except for "receipt"
