It inherits the properties of the element it replaces ("GHOST DATA CANNOT BE SAVED"), which doesn't disappear when pausing. I will see if that can be changed.

thanks! i dont think you know this but i have one last question: do you know what fonts does the speedometer use? i assumed it was using the same fonts from the timer in race.szs but i was wrong. i also tried replacing them in race_u.szs but no luck. i am trying to replace it with my own font btw.
