dunno why the first line of code differs in just ntsc-u. thread moved out of main cheat codes forum. will investigate this later...

Ok did some testing. If I take the second part of the first line of code (where USA is different than any other region), and try it on Korea. I get less of an 'effect' with the code. Some icons are still hidden.

I then took the exact Korean version in original post, still the same result.

So the code technically still works, but not 100% true to the original USA code. Therefore this code will remain in this subforum until somebody can fix the issue.
